Step 1
1. Create an Excel workbook, name it “Fast food data.xls”. Sample data table.

2. Create data tables for three different meals; a BMS cafeteria meal, one that is high in fat and one that is low, (use attached samples for guidelines).

3. Gather calorie and fat calorie data from the Internet or other sources.

4. Each meal should have at least 5 items; sandwich, side, salad, dessert, drink etc.

5. Use Excel formulas to calculate non-fat calories, percentage of fat in menu items, percentage of fat in meal and totals.
Step 2
Create seven (7 ) charts using the Excel Chart Wizard.
6. Meal 1 (high fat meal)

a. Create a column chart to show a comparison of the non-fat and fat calories for each menu item.

b. Create a pie chart to show the percentage of fat in each of the menu items.

7. Meal 2 (low fat meal)

a. Create a column chart to show a comparison of the non-fat and fat calories for each menu item.

b. Create a pie chart to show the percentage of fat in each of the menu items.

8. Cafeteria Meal

a. Create a column chart to show a comparison of the non-fat and fat calories for each menu item.

b. Create a pie chart to show the percentage of fat in each of the menu items.

9 . Final Comparison Charts

a. Create one column chart to show total percentage of fat calories for each meal (cafeteria, high fat and low fat meals).

10. Import into Word from Excel the data table and charts from each meal to display onto a seperate page. On a fourth page import the final comparison chart. Use text boxes to write the introduction and descriptions for each pages tables and charts.

13. Create a bibliography text box to reference the web sites used in this assignment, restaurants USDA etc. Citations must be properly formatted (refer to Bibliography worksheet and sample project). Refer to the Rubric for specific criteria on assessment of project.
